Announcing our Fall Conference 2010: Civil Wars
The Fall Conference on "Civil Wars: New Perspectives" is scheduled for October 8, 2010 at the Salem Athenaeum. Our keynote speaker is THOMAS BENDER, University Professor at New York University and author of "A Nation Among Nations: America's Place in World History."
The full day conference is designed to update and engage participants in current scholarship. Intended as an intimate conference, the NEHTA fall conferences provide opportunities to explore new questions and thinking about historical topics. Discussion and debate are encouraged.
Our co-host is the Salem Athenaeum, an independent library and literary society on the North Shore of Boston. Celebrating their bicentennial this year (2010), the Athenaeum will provide us with a wonderful setting for the Civil Wars conference.
